Natalie often talks on an invisible phone as she awaits sleep’s tsunami. (For her it IS a tsunami and it often catches her mid-sentence – suddenly she is asleep!)
Tonight as she talked to her buddy David, she related what she learned from friends at lunch today. The version she told me was quite short and went like this:
Mom. People die from…………….. Um……………….
……… Malaria. A bug. It bites them and they die.
We discussed it. I have to admit I was surprised that this was the lunch topic, but fine. Yikes. Happy lunch!
Back to the phone call. She had trouble remembering the exact word as she talked with David:
David, I found out at lunch today that people die from hilaria.
And I folded into hilarious laughing at that point!
