Special Ed Literature

Natalie’s last full day of school today bore some interesting fruit.  The instruction centered around a literary masterpiece, Romeo & Juliet.  I am so thrilled with the depth of instruction in Special Ed at her school! She told me the story of Romeo and Juliet…

Version 1

Natalie: There is this boy named Romeo and this girl named Juliet. She likes him and he likes her. They live happily ever after.

Version 2

Natalie: The guy gets run over in the road.  The “girl” finds the guy, gets back together with the guy, he comes back to life and they live happily ever after.

After some questions, I found out this was actually a MOVIE, not a book!  AND it was NOT Romeo but GNOMEO & Juliet! THEN I found out that she also learned the story of “Finding Nemo” and “Despicable Me”

I LOVE literature in the schools! 😀
